Or, ask your neighbors if they have someone who can look into it for you. There is no one-stop-shop for all of your Seminole County real estate needs. The next way would be to call your local property tax collector or your property tax attorney. If they are not immediately available, call the Seminole County Clerk of Court. The sale date is set for a fixed period. You can hold an open house on the property for as long as you'd like, but once the date of the auction is over, your offer is off the table. It could be that they are more interested in collecting the delinquent taxes than trying to sell the home.

If the property appraisers determine what your home is worth less than the amount that you want to pay for it, then you may be able to knock it down by offering more than the amount that is owed. Many property owners have bought homes that are significantly under the value that they paid for them. The biggest problem with this is that the Seminole County property appraisers will look at the balance due on the mortgage and make their determination of value. They don't take into consideration any adjustments that you can make to the amount that you owe that may increase the property value.

 

Because you are in Seminole County and because the property value in this area has decreased over the years, there are a number of ways to knock it down in this manner. If the delinquent taxes and interest on the property have been taken out of the equation, you might be able to bring it up in value through a short sale. You can also offer to pay a few months rent and then not raise your monthly payments anymore. This is something that you would need to discuss with a qualified real estate attorney in order to find out if this method would work in your situation.
